Since 1979 the Amity Club has provided an alcohol- and drug-free environment where clean and sober customers can socialize, play a game of pool, and enjoy a fresh-ground cup of coffee. Many clients are recovering alcoholics and addicts, but anyone is welcome inside -- regulars, newcomers, and out-of-towners alike.

Membership is not required to enter the club, but it does have benefits. Members pay a flat $6 monthly fee and receive a discount on all beverages, as well as a voice about how the club is run.

In addition, the Amity Club offers hosting facilities on the premises for Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. These meetings are run separately from the club and customers are never pressured to attend them.
